When you are hosting one of the most important occasions of your life, or just attending as a GUEST here are a few tips to make it completely STRESS FREE!
In order to have a joyous occasion it is best to make sure that all your details are taken care a few days before your big event and NOT the day of.
- MARK YOUR CALANDER
Block out the day of the event on your calendar so you know you are booked for the whole day! This will ensure you do not over book yourself. Many times we know we have a big event, but we forget to factor in the time it takes to get ready. We book a lunch with friends or a business meeting thinking we can do it all in one day. Your event is most important so focus on your special celebration.
- PREPPING
Ladies: Make sure to get your manicure and pedicure a few days before the big event; this is one thing that can stress you out the most if left to the same day.
- DRESS TO IMPRESS
This goes for both men and women, decide your outfit well in advance. Planning what you’re going to wear will help you determine if or what you will need to go shopping for any specific item necessary to complete your outfit. Make sure you have everything you need so you do not have to go running for a safety pin before your event!
*Don’t forget to pick up your Dry Cleaning if needed. It will add stress if you realize at the last minute, the dress or suit you’re planning on wearing is at the cleaners, yikes!
- THE GIFT
Go shopping for the card and gift as soon as you receive the invitation.
- YOUR RIDE
Get your transportation ready you may need to wash your car. If you’re planning on drinking make sure to set up your UBER or LYFT accounts.
- ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Make your ATM visits for emergency cash at hand. Rule of thumb, always take enough cash to pay for a cab ride home, in case of an emergency (i.e. your phone might die and you can’t call an UBER).
- IGNORE THE CALL
While getting ready DO NOT answer your phone, this could set you back a few hours especially if you are a chatterbox! (You can always return important phone calls from the car when you are on your way.)
Making it on time to your special event means the world to everyone involved. They will know you cared enough to be there and not miss a second of their ceremony or celebration! Not to mention, running late causes fights between partners, and some times even friendships. As we all know, arriving late to ceremonies like weddings, birthdays, or any special occasion can cause a bit of disruption to the hosts and those who arrived on time.
It will make a world of difference between a calm and peaceful experience as opposed to a stress filled day of trying to make it to the event on time! These seven little steps will ensure you’re the life of the party!
7 Pasitos para un evento sin estrés:
Los Latinos siempre tenemos la mala fama de llegar tarde a todo! Tenemos que cambiar ese tema.

Llegar tarde a los eventos es una mala educacion en todos las culturas. Pero muchas personas todavia siguen llegando tarde. Yo soy una de esas personas que siempre llegaba tarde y aprendi con el tiempo, pequeños pasos que puedo dar para no tener el estrès que siempro llevaba cuando estaba en camino a los eventos importantes como la boda de mi mejor amiga, o el anniversario de mis padres.
Esto son los pasos que yo estoy dando antes de todos mis eventos especiales que me estan ayudando mucho!
Comeinza tu preparacion dias antes y no en el MISMO DIA. Esto te ayudara increiblemente.
- En tu calendario bloqua todo el dia de el evento para que en tu subconciente ya tu sabes que no hay nada que puedes hacer ese dia. De esta forma no puedes hacer doble planes o aceptar juntas de trabajo o citas con amistades.
- Señoras y Señoritas asegurense de hacer su manicure y pedicure dias antes. Para mi eso es el estrès mas grande. Ustedes saben que las manos y los pies son lo mas importante para la presentacion elegante femenina o masculine!
- Dicidan que se van a poner. Es incredible el estrès que causa el no saber que ponerte. O, cuando buscas en tu closet, y no esta tu saco o vestido de gala porque esta en la lavanderia! Y si algo te falta de tu conjunto tienes que ir buscandolo a ultima hora. Decide lo que te vas a poner y asegurate que tienes todo lo que requires. Los Zapatos, Medias Panty, los arretes o accesorios. La correa. Etc etc. y no te olvide de ir a la lavandaria dias antes de tu evento. Siempre pruebate tu vestido o saco para asegurarte que todavia te sirve!
- Compra la tarjeta y el regalo dias antes. Yo he pasado tanto estrès porque siempre dejaba lo mas importante como el regalo para ultima hora. Ahora lo hago dias o semanas antes. Puedo escoger una tarjeta con calma y el regalo perfecto sin estar corriendo porque estoy tarde para el gran evento!
- Asegurate que tienes tu transportacion. Si vas en tu carro llevalo a lavar un dia antes, o asegurate que tienes tu UBER o LYFT en tu cellular listo a llamar si decides que vas a beber liquor en tu gran evento. Asi no pierdes tiempo buscando como vas a llegar y volver a tu casita.
- Visita tu banco o ATM para que tengas un poco de dinero en efectivo en caso de emergencia. Siempre deberias llevar bastante efectivo para poder obtener un taxi a tu casa esa es mi regla, y nunca me ha fallado.
- Mientras te prepares para tu evento NO CONTESTES EL TELEFONO O CELLULAR. A nosotros no encanta hablar y cuando estas preparandote tienes que dejar de contester el telefono. Para mi esto es lo que mas me ha ayudado a no llegar tarde jamas! Siempre puedes contester las llamadas de tu carro cuando ya estas en camino.
Llegar tarde a los eventos cause mucho daño espiritual. Causa problemas entre parejas o amigos. Es falta de respeto a la ceremonia y a las personas que te han invitado. Es algo que facilmente se puede cambiar y hacer a todos al te alredodor contentos de tenerte en su evento!
